Dam museum

Estrada do Acude, 764 - Alto da Boa Vista, Rio de Janeiro - RJ, 20531-330, Brazil

About the company:

The Dam Museum is a colonial style mansion of the XVIII century. It was purchased in 1913 and finally restored in 1920 by Raimundo Castro Maya. He turned the museum into a non-colonial building. This place perfectly reflects all the luxury and wealth of the former coffee barons. The building is located in the most picturesque place of Rio de Janeiro, between the forest and the mountains of Tijuca.

On its territory there is a delightful garden with many fountains and statues. The mansion itself can present various collections of furniture, silverware and jewelry. The museum is a fabulous nature park that harmoniously merges with the creations of man.

Visiting the museum is a journey through time and history. The Dam Museum is where you can see and experience the culture of England, Portugal, Indonesia, China and India.
