About the company:

The Museum of the Republic is a museum in Rio de Janeiro, which covers the history of Brazil and the immediate formation of the republic before 1960. It is housed in the building where one of Brazil’s last presidents, Vargas, took his own life about 50 years ago.

The building was erected in 1858-1866.

From 1896 to 1954, it was the home of Brazilian rulers. It is their lives and board that are dedicated to all the expositions of the museum.

Visitors will be able to see the original appearance of the building, as it has been restored in all its splendor - with marble columns and stained glass ceilings.

The collection of the museum presents memorabilia, furniture and works of art of the republic. Also, the curious viewer will be interested in sections such as the multimedia area, an art gallery, a theater and a cozy restaurant on the terrace.
