Museum of Modern Art in Niteroi
Mirante da Boa Viagem, s/nº, Boa Viagem - Niteró i - RJ, 24210-390, Brazil
About the company:
The Museum of Modern Art is the most popular attraction in the town of Niteroi. The unusual building of the museum has the shape of a flying saucer, and is located on the picturesque shore of Guanabara Bay.
The museum was built for five years and opened its doors in 1996. The building itself was built in the style of modernism, and was designed by Oscar Niemeyer (one of the most popular architects of the twentieth century).
When you enter the museum, you will see the unusual shape of the column, and when you climb to the second floor, the real magic will begin. Panoramic windows offer stunning views of Rio de Janeiro and the small town of Niteroi itself.
The museum houses more than a thousand paintings owned by the famous collector Joan Sattamini (he collected the collection for 45 years).
In addition, various exhibitions are constantly held in the museum. Therefore, this museum is so popular among modern artists and painting lovers.
