Nossa Senhora dos Remedios Church

Nossa Senhora dos Remedios is a small parish located in the Povoisan area. It was built in the form of a regular rectangle at the beginning of the XVI century. The church has a facade with a triangular large front. There is a bell tower on one side of the church. It has preserved bells that appeared here in the XVIII century. The entrance to the church is made in the form of a triumphal arch. The church has an altar made of gilded wood. There is a small chapel next to the church. In it, parishioners can see a marble iconostasis and panels of decorative tiles.

They depict scenes that depict the life of the Holy Virgin Mary. There are also several paintings depicting evangelicals. Especially many parishioners are in the church on the day of commemoration of the Virgin Mary. The parish of Nossa Senhora dos Remedios contains a lyceum and a school. They are taught free of charge to all who wish. These are mostly children from low-income families.
