Arruda Camara Park
Centro, Joao Pessoa, State of Paraiba
Description:
Arruda Camara Park is a botanical and zoological park in the center of João Pesoa. In the center of the park is a spring with mineral water.
Arruda Camara is a real oasis in northeastern Brazil. There is a large area of untouched Atlantic forest, which is appreciated throughout the continent. It is a unique fragile ecosystem inhabited by rare animals represented in the zoo.
In the park there is also a spring, which is dedicated to an ancient Indian legend. Once a local boy and a girl from hostile tribes fell in love, but the relatives of a girl named Tambia killed her lover. The girl cried long and inconsolable, and at the place where the young man died, a spring appeared, which was dubbed "Tears of Tambia".
