Carapibus beach is a popular resort place 25 kilometers from João Pessoa. A distinctive feature of the beach are natural pools formed after low tide in the coral massifs along the coast.
Carapibus in normal times like a mountain desert, deserted and beautiful. Large sand and craters in colorful corals make the beach look like the lunar surface. But during the holiday season, the hills and cliffs around the beach are filled with tents of numerous campsites and shops of merchants.
Coral reefs act as a natural barrier protecting the coast from strong waves. Carapibus has long become a center of tourism, today the construction of a large hotel complex has begun near the beach.
