Dozhin in the Czech Republic

Dozhinok - the end of field workIn the Czech Republic, at the end of September, “dozhinki” is celebrated – the end of field work. The reapers decorate the last sheaf with all sorts of bonkers like colorful ribbons and weave a huge dozhinka wreath of all the cereals that have only been born on the field.

To make it look more elegant, paper and live flowers were added to it.

We were supposed to leave on the field a handful of uncut ears, entwined with tape, so that the next harvest was good.
