Feast of St. Mikulash

Christmas season in the Czech Republic opens...The Christmas season in the Czech Republic opens with the feast of St. Mikulas (as St. Nicholas is called here).

Saint Mikulas is a Czech Santa Claus. He comes to the children in the night from 5 to 6 December. Mikulash is dressed in a long fur coat, a high hat, in his hands he has a staff with a spiraled top, behind him a box with gifts.

On this day, trinities walk across the country.

Accompanying Mikulasha is an angel in snow-white clothes and a shaggy devil. He bestows fruits and sweets on good and obedient children, and hooligans and loafers find potatoes or a lump of coal in Christmas socks.

On this day, dressed trinities walk around the country - St. Mikulash, angel and devil. So, if in your field of view get several angels with meter wings and devils of chains, it is not from drinking mulled wine. Usually the devils (Czech for Parkel) come across an order of magnitude more than the angels.
