The Chapel of the Deadly Torments of the Lord
Description:
The Chapel of the Deadly Pains of the Lord is located near Przemyshl Otakar II Square next to St. Nicholas Cathedral, on the right side of its main entrance. Compared to the large Cathedral, the chapel looks like a small modest building. The chapel was built in Baroque style between 1727-1731 on the site of the Gothic chapel of St. James.
After 50 years, the chapel, having fallen under state reforms, was closed, then reopened in 1855. The chapel is a building at the base of which a square is laid, with beveled corners and two towers in front. The altar is decorated with the image of Christ on the Mount of Olives. The rear chapel is now used for Greek Catholic worship.
