Description:
The Black Tower is a symbol of the city of Ceske Budejovica. It is located near the town square Otakar II. The tower was built in the second half of the XVI century in the Gothic style with the addition of Renaissance elements. At its base there is a square, the side of which does not exceed 12 meters, and especially fortified walls at the base are about 3 meters wide. The tower reaches a height of 72 meters, so in ancient times it served as a watchtower and bell tower.
Inside the tower has 9 floors, 225 steps, on the top floor was the living room of the watchman and his family. Now there is an observation deck for tourists, which, first of all, offers a good view of the city center.
