Ná m. P emysla Otakara II 1/1, Č esk Budě jovice

Description:

The Town Hall is one of the most beautiful buildings in Otakar II Square in Ceski Budejovice. It was originally built in the Renaissance style in the middle of the XVI century, but in the XVIII century was rebuilt in Baroque by Martinelli. The house has three floors, on the roof there are three towers, the middle is equipped with a gilded clock. The facade of the house has magnificent paintings.

On the edge of the roof are four sculptures by Czech artist Josef Dietrich, symbolizing the main virtues: justice, courage, wisdom and prudence. The inside of the building is as beautiful as the outside. Its main ceremonial hall is decorated with frescoes from the 1730s on biblical themes, including the court of King Solomon.
