Description:

The Shumava Nature Reserve is a mountain range covered mostly by forest. It stretches for 150 kilometers along the border of the Czech Republic and Germany. Since 1991, it has been a national park adjacent to the Bavarian Forest National Park. Shumava Reserve is one of the most valuable wildlife reserves not only in the Czech Republic, but throughout Europe.

The flora and fauna of the park are under the protection of the Czech government, the national park ten years ago was included in the list of protected reserves of the world organization UNESCO. Stretching from the snow-white Alps deep into the Czech Republic, the Shumava Reserve is represented by a variety of tree species, among them there are real relics. There are two mountain ranges in the forest: Shumawa and Kashper Mountains. The park has eight glacial lakes with crystal clear water. Glacial reservoirs, known as blue lakes, and nearby plains are some of the most picturesque places in the park. Their shores are always cool, and the water is striking with its transparency. By the way, in addition to them, there are also stone seas in the forest.

There are grassy mountain meadows, striking with their spring flowering, and valleys overgrown with heather, and peat swamps. Today in Shumavy you can find a lynx, mouflon, badger. Near the reservoirs live otters, and in the forests live deer and chamois. For the convenience of cyclists there are bike paths in the park. Therefore, traveling by bicycle will bring only positive emotions.
