St. Wenceslas Cathedral
Description:
St. Wenceslas Cathedral is the main city church, as well as the Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Olomouc. This beautiful temple was built in 1140 in Romanesque style. The height of the temple towers reaches 100 meters. The length of the cathedral is 80 meters, and the width is 17.5 meters, which allows to accommodate about five thousand believers.
Over the centuries, the appearance of the building changed several times, thanks to which several architectural trends immediately merged in it: the original Romanesque style, Gothic, Baroque and pseudo-Gothic. The main relic is a treasury in the form of an ark with four hundred diamonds. The building was reconstructed in the early XIX century.
