Armless gardens

Ná b e ní P emyslovců, Olomouc, Czech Republic

Description:

The gardens are the longest and youngest of the three main city parks of Olomouc. It stretches for 2.5 kilometers along the Mlyn stream in the southeastern part of the city. The history of the park began in 1835, when the embankment area began to be ennobled. In the postwar period, the park was equipped for recreation of citizens. Previously, the park had several structures that have not survived to our time, such as malt mills and a fountain.

The park has a romantic English style. Leaf paths, centuries-old trees, forged benches, a small stone fortress, arbors, a wooden bell tower, statues - make the park attractive to visitors. In 1926, a memorial to Yugoslav soldiers was erected in the park. The Botanical Garden and the Rosary are part of the Handless Gardens.
