Michael Mine

The Mikhail mine in Mikhalkowice is part of a large museum of the Landek Park mining business, located in the town of Petrškovice five kilometers from the city of Ostrava on the slope of Mount Landek. The Michal mine was founded in 1843 and functioned until the beginning of the XX century. In 1915, the mine underwent reconstruction, which did not make major changes, after which the place was declared a historical monument. Visiting the mine, it seems that the miners only left the tunnel yesterday. The internal working appearance and craft details were preserved. Tourists can get acquainted with the underground path of any miner from the locker room to the mining site. Here are presented real equipment, workshop, bathrooms of workers, boiler room, etc.
