Prague

Hradchan and Petřín Hill

Description:

Only on the street Novy Svet on the outskirts of Hradchan can you imagine what Prague was like before the large-scale restructuring of the city. There was not enough money for the poorest district, and it remained untouched since the Middle Ages.

Nearby Loreta is one of the main Christian shrines of Prague. Every hour the bells of Loreta play the hymn to the Virgin Mary. This music cannot be described in words, it must be heard.

We will go to Petrin through the Strahov Monastery, which belongs to the richest order of premonstrants. This monastery is famous for its library, art gallery, but most importantly - the beer of St. Norbert, named after the founder of the order.

Next, we will walk along Petřín, which offers a beautiful view of Prague and I will tell you about the incredible love that connected Marina Tsvetaeva with this place.

We will finish the walk in the Kinsky Garden, which is located on the southern slope of Petřín. We will find a wooden Baroque temple of Archangel Michael, built in the middle of the XVII century in Subcarpathian Russia and donated to Prague in 1928.
