From Prague to Salzburg
Description:
Salzburg fascinates not only with its history and magnificent architecture, but also with its location. The beautiful photon of our excursion will be the mountain peaks in the south and the spreading plains in the north, the crystal waters of the Salzakh River and the purest alpine air.
At the end of the 8th century Salzburg became a major religious center. Since 1278, the Salzburg Archbishopric has become a sovereign clerical state. The abundance of magnificent temples in the city is amazing, in the center there was a real cathedral quarter. We will visit the Cathedral of Salzburg, the Benedictine Abbey of St. Peter - the oldest monastery in German-speaking lands, the Franciscan Church and the luxurious palace - the residence of the archbishops.
We will walk along the streets of the old town and see the unique Grain Lane (Getraydegasse), where the tradition of pretentious signs of craft shops, shops and offices is carefully preserved to this day. Only here you can see unique signs stylized by the Middle Ages of famous world brands: Louis Vuitton, Salamander, Zara, etc. Walk along the embankment of the left bank of the Salzach River to admire the Salzburg Music Festival area and houses crashing into the cliffs. And on the right bank we will go to the Mirabel Palace, which a loving archbishop built especially for his beloved, who bore him 15 children in an unofficial marriage.
In the entrance of the tour we will also climb the funicular to the fortress of Hohensalzburg, standing on top of Mount Festungberg. And from there, from a height of 120 meters above city level, we will admire the chic views.
And of course, we will not forget the most famous native of Salzburg – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. During the tour, we will see the house where the young genius was born on January 26, 1756, and the house where the composer’s family moved with the arrival of popularity to Amadeus. It is in Salzburg that the famous candy with the image of Mozart on the packaging is produced. You can learn the secret of their manufacture, try and take with you as a souvenir.
