Nuremberg - the kingdom of half-timbered houses
Description:
Cozy and mysterious Nuremberg is located in Bavaria, near the border of Germany and the Czech Republic.
The old town, surrounded by a ring of fortress walls, carefully preserves its medieval atmosphere. Above the winding streets and half-work houses on the rock rises the hromada of Kaiseburg Castle. Its construction in the 11th century was the impetus for the birth of the city.
During our tour we will visit the three most interesting temples of Nuremberg: St. Lawrence Church, Mother of God Church and St. Sibald Church. We will look at the battle of the clock with figures in the Market Square. We will see the house-museum of Albrecht Dürer, where the artist lived until his death.
We will walk along the bridge of the executioner, the bridge of butchers and the arched bridge of Maxbrücke to personally see that Nuremberg is not for nothing called the Northern Venice. The houses here stand close to the Pegnitz River and are reflected in its unhurried waters.
Nuremberg is famous for its allegorical fountains of Virtue and the Marriage Carousel. Every detail here has a meaning.
We will also go down to the city's dungeons, which have been used for storing beer since ancient times.
Visiting Nuremberg, you can not ignore its sad modern history associated with the Second World War. We will specially drive to the outskirts of the city to visit Paul Zeppelin and the territory specially designated by Hitler for the National Socialist congresses that were held here from 1933 to 1938. Now it is an open-air park, the remaining unfinished buildings are specially preserved as a edification to descendants. And what can lead to merciless craving for world domination, you can see already in the city in the building of the Museum of the Nuremberg trial.
