Now I will tell you about my excursion from Prague to the Orlik castle above Vltava, the Velkopovitsky Krzel brewery and the Prague Vysegrad.

“In ancient times, the firmament of heaven hung over the flat-upper Earth. And where the castle of Orlik is now, there lived a robber Batek.

He was bold, smart and fantastically lucky.

Batek terrorized the surrounding counties and frightened the hardworking surrounding population.

The royal army at the time, however hard it tried, could not catch him.

Unpunished he was poor for many summers, but one day a favorable planid decided to punish him.

Father had a golden-colored son, and whenever the mother-in-law traded in murder, the boy bored at home, playing with himself at all sorts of violins.

And one day, when Batek robbed the neighbouring barons, a huge black bird swooped into their secret forest dwelling and carried an innocent child into an impregnable rock palace.

Returning home, Batyok found missing and immediately went in search of the child. All night he wandered through the dense forests, listening to every rustle, and only at sunrise he heard a child’s cry coming from the top of an impregnable rock.

Having freed the child from captivity, Batyok understood the sign sent to him from above, and swore no more harm to anyone.

Since then, he has become a champion of morality and a model of reputation, and on the fateful rock built a beautiful castle, calling it Orlik.

After listening to grandiose tales, crying and suffering, having examined the castle furniture, armor and tapestries, we will leave Orlik with a light heart to continue the informative journey.

The next place to give impressions will be the brewery Velkopopovický Kozel.

Unlike Orlyk, local gurus here will not only show and tell, but also be sure to treat. At least half a liter of freshly brewed beer will receive each listener of the theoretical part.

To tell the truth, the excursion story about the brewing of Velkopopowitz beer is very informative and interesting.

After a walk through the brewery and a good lunch in the local harchevna, the time for relaxed conversations and soulful nomadry inevitably comes, for which a leisurely walk around Vysegrad, surrounded by wonderful Prague views, is the best fit.
