Medieval village of crafts Botanicus

Description:

Dear travelers! We invite you to take a short trip through time, namely in the Middle Ages! It is in this atmosphere that the historical village of folk arts and crafts Botanicus, located near the Czech capital, will take us. A walk through the crooked and narrow streets of this wonder village converging on the central square will tell us about life in medieval Europe better than any book or film. The idea of its creation of such a historical place was expressed in 1999 by the President of the Czech Republic - Vaclav Havel. Soon, by the works of history lovers and enthusiasts of organic agricultural production, a historic village of wood and stone was created on the territory of the former technical polygon. Each house or outbuilding is recreated to the smallest detail according to documentary sources. The spirit of the Middle Ages emphasizes the age-appropriate clothing of staff and walking in the village of the local "currency" - a penny, which was minted in the Czech city of Kutna Hora in the 15-16 centuries. You can get pennies in the “exchange putkt” at the entrance to the village at a rate of 10 CZK for 1 pennie. On the narrow streets of the village of Botanicus are houses of artisans, in each of which there is a special action, such as a master class for the production of soap, candles, gingerbread, dolls, ropes, paper, coins and so on. You can try yourself in one or another skill for 2-3 pennies. Also on the territory of the village there is a unique opportunity to practice archery or try your luck at the gold mine. What you could not do with your own hands, you can buy in the shop at the entrance to the village. This applies not only to souvenirs, but also organic perfumes and cosmetics of Botanicus: creams, oils, soap, masks, shampoos and much more. All products of this brand are made locally from plant raw materials grown here using ancient technologies. Regularly in the village there are festivals, theatrical performances, puppet folk festivals with the participation of medieval acrobats and lyceums. So, being here in September, it is easy to witness and participate in the celebration of the end of the harvest. Botanicus is not a place to go hungry. Here, in addition to the beautiful inn, where you can have a delicious lunch, there is also your own bakery. There is a real old oven in it. It is also interesting that this furnace is connected to the forge furnace, which is located on the tier below. In fact, it was possible to make baking on heat from the fire on which the blacksmith worked. About the center of crafts Botanicus can still be told and told, but as the wise saying goes: better to see once! The village of Botanicus is open from early May to late September every day except Monday.
