Prague

The medieval abode of ordinary people. Botanicus Village (May to October)

Description:

How the knights lived in fortresses or nobles in palaces, you already know. In the Czech Republic there are enough palaces and castles to understand what occupied the upper class. Some walled themselves in iron armor, honed their fighting skills, defended their fortresses and stormed others. Others tightened into tight corsets, built unimaginable hairstyles on their heads and invented group marvelous dances. And the third at this time were engaged in the most necessary at all times business - provided life and food for all of the above. Plowed the earth, sculpted pots, boiled soap, forged iron, philosophically looking at all this running in armor and worthless bows at the courts. And how else? In spring, you need to plant vegetables, fruits and grains; in summer, prepare for winter: remove sleds, prepare firewood, dry mushrooms and straw; by autumn, deal with grain, harvest everything that has grown, prepare the dwelling for the cold; in winter, the front of work was smaller - strain the yarns, raise the laundry and weave the paws, it was for this occupation that fairy tales were well invented and retold, which little children listened to all their ears.

And to better understand what ordinary people did and how they lived, we will go to the village of Ostra near Prague. There is a prototype of a medieval settlement, where in small mudsels, actors in thematic outfits clearly show how they used to make candles or paper, make iron necessary in the household, and even mine gold. And to create a feeling of complete immersion in the past, everyone is given the opportunity to participate in all these processes. Isn't that great?!

The excitement of the children is assured! After all, nothing delights a child so much as a hand-made papyrus, beads or clay mug. And with all this newfound wealth, it's so cool to eat delicious pancakes with marmalade in the tavern, just like our great-great-grandmothers used to.
