Prague

Old Town and Prague Castle

Description:

If you are visiting Prague for the first time, a sightseeing tour will help you to get acquainted with this wonderful city. We can start the tour directly from your hotel, and at the end of the walk you will definitely be able to navigate well in the Czech capital.

The history of Prague is full of heroic and grotesque events, sometimes funny and sometimes sad. During the sightseeing tour you will visit the sights of the New and Old Town:

  • Wenceslas Square – the main artery of the city is always boiling, the main political events of the last century left their imprint here.
  • The Powder Tower is one of several Gothic towers of the city, thanks to which Prague is also called the “city of one hundred towers”.
  • Celetskaya Street is the beginning of the royal path that the Czech monarchs followed to Prague Castle on the day of their coronation.
  • The Old Town Square is the heart of the medieval city. Once there was a market, where the paths of merchants from the East and Europe crossed, now it is, without exaggeration, one of the most beautiful historical squares, a pearl framed by houses of the 15th-16th centuries, palaces and temples.
  • Orloi is the world-famous clock of the Prague Town Hall, on which wooden figures come to life every hour.
  • Charles Bridge, framed by Baroque sculptures of the patron saints of the city and country. One of them is Jan Nepomuksky. Our guide will tell you the story of his life, and will also show you where you can make a wish and ask St. John to fulfill it.
  • Prague Venice is an area along the banks of the Chertovka Canal, very similar to the real Italian Venice.
  • Campa Island, its Maltese Quarter and Water Mills.
  • The Waldstein Gardens is the first park in Prague, which is now owned by the Czech Senate, but is free to visit. Here it is good to relax in the shadow of magnolias and surrounded by freely walking peacocks, gain strength to climb the hall of Prague Castle.

The second part of our tour will be enlightened to the royal castle and the current residence of the President of the Czech Republic – Prague Castle. This is the largest castle in Central Europe! Its complex includes 12 museums, several palaces, including the old royal, art gallery, temples, the most famous of which is St. Vitus Cathedral, whose Gothic towers you will notice from afar. On the city there is also the famous golden street with a scattering of miniature multi-colored houses, where jewelers lived, and if you believe the legends, the alchemists of Emperor Rudolf II.

The tour program can be adjusted, expanded or shortened at your request. As additional objects of visit can be included in the program: Camp Gardens, Vojanov Gardens, Petrzyn Hill and its Rose Garden, Prague Observatory, Nerudovaya Street and Small Side, Prague Jezulatko.
