Magnificent Prague Castle. Individual sightseeing tour
Description:
The cost of the tour:
1-4 people - 90 euros
A tour of the Prague Castle (Saint Vita Cathedral, St. George Church, Old Royal Palace, Zlata Street) will start from the Strahov Monastery, which is located in the oldest district of the city - Hradchany.
It is one of the oldest Christian buildings in the Czech Republic that have survived to this day. The monastery belongs to the oldest order of monks-premonstrants. By the way, Strahov Monastery is male and active.
Next, Loreta is an amazing baroque holy place with a Holy Hut surrounded by monasteries, the Church of the Nativity of the Lord and a tower with a world-famous carillon. Of the three hundred works of art, the most attention is attracted by the diamond gift bearer “Prague Sun”, which at the end of the XVII century was made by Viennese jewelers.
And finally, Prague Castle is a fortress of the city of Prague, the residence of the President of the Czech Republic (formerly Czech kings, some Holy Roman emperors, presidents of Czechoslovakia). The largest presidential residence in the world. The city is located on a high hill that dominates Prague. The architectural dominant is the Cathedral of St. Vita. The emergence of the Prague Castle is directly related to the fate of the first Czech princely dynasty of Przemyslovich. Here are kept royal jewels, relics of the kings of Bohemia, Christian relics, artistic treasures and historical documents. Events important for the whole country are also held within the walls of Prague Castle, thus allowing to draw a single thread between the past and the present of the Czech Republic.
Mala country (Waldstein Garden, Malostra Square with St. Nicholas Cathedral) - this part of Prague is both cozy and grandiose. Its narrow cobbled streets, replete with luxurious baroque palaces and churches, lead to oases of greenery and silence, to parks or to the waterfront, past medieval squares. Nobility built palaces here to approach the luxury of the residence of the monarch, and sometimes, like Count Wallenstein, even compete with the Royal Palace in Hradchany.
And we will end the journey, enjoying the magnificent views from the romantic Charles Bridge!
