Castles near Prague I
Description:
Now I will tell you about my excursion from Prague to the castles of Karlstein and Konopište.
Both castles are extremely beautiful and interesting, and at the same time do not repeat each other in anything.
This is the most unquestionable timez of this castle pair.
Karlstein Castle was born in the middle of the fourteenth century, and its initiator and producer was the main favorite of all Czechs, Charles the Fourth.
Karlstein Castle was conceived as a repository of judicial and other state acts, imperial regalia and a collection of holy relics, which, in turn, indicates the unshakable confidence of the beneficiary of Karl in the impenetrable castle walls.
On the morning of the ninth of February, one thousand three hundred and sixty-fifth, an act of acceptance was signed, and Karlstein Castle began to perform its safe duties.
At different times, he had to serve as a really reliable chest, a desperate shirt, a pawn shop deposit and even a dacha for noble maidens.
Many times it was decayed and repaired, destroyed and rebuilt.
In the twentieth century, he was lucky to enter the neo-Gothic handsome.
Nowadays it serves as a tourist mecca for Czechs and visitors.
The excursion in the castle qualitatively immerses all visitors in the era of noble knights, tournaments and endless feats.
After a detailed study of this medieval handsome man, both inside and outside, we will go to our next destination. This is Konopište Castle.
Its appearance is associated with the end of the thirteenth century. It was at those times that the heavy forged hersa descended here for the first time.
Like many of his brethren, fate threw Konopište castle from the heat to the heat and from one hand to the other. And in one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven the owner of the castle was the Austro-Hungarian heir to the throne Franz Ferdinand.
And then, in the spirit of the most historicism-romanticism, the stone machine was rebuilt once again.
The family d'Este lived there until the outbreak of the First World War, which began in connection with the murder of Franz Ferdinand and his wife.
The famous book about the brave soldier Schweik begins as follows:
- “They killed Ferdinand, therefore, ours,” said his maid to Schweik.
Now, please note that this is about the owner of the castle we're going to.
After a wave of European adventures of the first half of the twentieth century, Konopište Castle, along with its unique collection of armor, weapons and paintings, went to the Czech state.
Now this castle, along with Karlstein, is very popular with local and visiting tourists.
An hour or two spent in the castle, give an opportunity to thoroughly imbue with the spirit of Europe at the end of the nineteenth century and deeply understand its history.
On the road from Karlstein to Konopišta from one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four years brewed the famous beer Velkopovitsky Goat.
I think dining there will be the same, as they say.
And on the way we will stop in a couple of unexpectedly beautiful and interesting places.
