Konopište Castle and Velkopovitsky Goat Brewery

Description:

From 250 euros.

Now I will tell you about my excursion from Prague to one of the most interesting castles in the Czech Republic, and at the same time to the brewery, located quite near it and known to everyone as Velkopopowitz Goat.

... It is no secret that the main reason for the construction of early European castles was the great desire of the medieval knights to live to old age and retirement.

All other causes in those days were secondary.

In this sense, the brutal cobblestone castle monster, above all, served as a reliable stronghold.

Nothing more.

And some so-called knightly courtly “romantic” of plus or minus modern books is just a fictional creative of minstrels and troubadours.

Over time, the good old stone community with towering mighty walls, impenetrable super-reliable towers and bottomless deep moats ceased to cope with the protection of their lord and turned into a sweet and absolutely harmless manor house.

The ancient castle of Konopište, located not far from Prague, is a fascinating and super-detailed story with colored lubricants about everything I just said, from the very beginning to the very end, slowly and in order.

Konopišt’s first combat hypostasis was built in an inconceivably immemorial era of either very late Staufen or very early Habsburgs. And then this ancient burg for many centuries fought off all sorts of enemies, while walking on a variety of hands and becoming cooler and more powerful.

And once it turned into a huge and extremely romantic estate.

About all this step by step step, leading tourists through narrow long corridors and extensive halls with polished swords and knightly armor, tell local castle guides.

The cherry on the epic hemp cake sits the famous Austro-Hungarian heir to the throne Franz Ferdinand, who once lived here with his beloved wife Sofia and their beloved offspring.

Having strolled through the vast castle floors, saturated with the freshest park air and soaked in a variety of high-society glamour, we will need to make a simple choice: either have a hearty lunch or continue to explore the Czech Republic on an empty stomach.

However, in both cases, the next goal of this tour of the Czech Republic is the famous brewery Velkopopovický Kozel.

By itself, this Goat does not need any introduction, because the taste of beer is familiar to all adherents of the famous Czech brand.

By the way, in the program announced by me, not only a tour of his alma mater, but also a meeting with the fastened goat Olda, who personifies the inviolability of ancient cyclopovitsky traditions.

During a walk through a huge brewery complex with all sorts of its brewing shops, brodillas and bottling houses will turn out:

  • To understand the essence of brewing,
  • to overcome the theory of conception of beer and
  • Pour in a mug or two of his freshest brewed.

Well, at the end of it all, either lunch or straight home to Prague.

That's it for today.
