Prague

Melnik Castle and wine tasting

Description:

Melnik Castle is distinguished not only by the history of this feudal castle, which is still in private ownership, but also by its unique location - at the confluence of two rivers Elbe (Czech "Labut") and Vltava. The castle rises on a hill surrounded by forests, fields and vineyards. It is from here that the history of Czech winemaking originates, and it is in the Melnik Castle that you will be offered to taste Czech wines, which are forbidden to export for the country's aisles.

The history of the castle begins in the 10th century, and is associated with such famous Czech saints as St. Ludmila and St. Wenceslas. Charles IV proclaimed Melnik as a royal city and has since visited at least 23 queens and princesses.

Currently, a real count lives here with his family, and it is easy to meet him drinking coffee at a table of elegant coffee in the courtyard of the castle. The history of the modern noble nest I will tell you during the trip.
