Moritzburg and Meissen Castle. In the luxurious nest of the Saxon Elector
Description:
A trip to a fairy tale - so briefly you can describe this route.
Meissen is a fabulous miracle! Such a number of red tiled roofs, tiny houses and winding streets can be seen only in Czech Krumlov. Above them lay the royal palace, and stuck towers in the sky black Catholic Church.
Meissen is a city of two kings that never became royal. Maybe that is why life here flowed slowly, smoothly, in its turn. Storms swept through the world of war and destruction, but the fabulous Meissen was not subject to these peripitations. All the same, someone makes wine according to the old recipe of their ancestors, someone keeps an inn, and someone makes crafts from wood.
Moritzburg is a fairy tale castle. And not just because they shot "Three Nuts for Cinderella." It is picturesquely located on an island among a vast lake. It was built, in fact, as a “decoration” for the fairy tale of love and happiness. A room of bird feathers, a bed of them, a canopy ... From the wide windows a blue water width is visible. Soft leather wallpaper with gilding. Huge paintings with love scenes... Dimmed candelabra light.
But it's just the entourage. The prelude to winning the heart of the beautiful lady was a long and epic theatrical production using courtiers as actors. A staged meeting with the forest gods, hunting under the protection of the god of wild nature himself, lunch with him at the table, with naked forest nymphs reclining on it... And so on, and this is not the limit of the vast imagination of the ruler of Saxony - the great womanizer of all times and peoples.
But I'll tell you about that on the way to the castle. And my story will fill the rooms of the castle you walk through with living characters, moments of their lives, feelings and intrigues of that time.
