Description:

Kinski Palace, built in the Rococo style, is located on the Old Town Square in the center of Prague. The palace exhibits collections of drawings and graphics, as well as an information center.

The palace was built in 1765. Although the facade is made in the Rococo style, the whole building bears the features of late Baroque. The front of the building is decorated with allegorical sculptures of 4 main elements and figures of ancient gods. There used to be lavish balls and receptions.

The interior of the palace amazes with its pomposity. It was in the palace building that the first Nobel Prize winner, Berta Suttnerova-Kinska, was born. At the end of the XIX century, a German grammar school was located here, where the famous writer Franz Kafka studied. Now the palace is a popular venue for wedding ceremonies, concerts and other cultural events.
