Czech Republic, Prague, 1-Mala Strana, Carmelitskaya str. 385/9

Description:

The pilgrimage of Catholics from all over the world to the Church of the Virgin Mary the Victorious has been happening for more than one century.

They are attracted here by a charming statuette of the wax of the baby Jesus – Prague Jezulatka, which in 1628 was presented to the church by Princess Polixen of Lobkowitz. This statuette is known all over the world as "Bambino di Praga". The figure is in a glass box on a luxuriously decorated marble altar. The wardrobe of the little Jesus is impressive – it has more than 150 valuable hand-embroidered vestments of different styles and colors. The most valuable is the vestment embroidered by the Austrian Empress Maria Theresa.
