Description:
Many countries have singing or dancing fountains. One of these man-made wonders is located in Prague, and is called Krzyzhikov Fountains. They are named after the engineer Frantisek Krzyczyk, who was engaged in their construction in 1891. In those days, this fountain was considered a real miracle of technology. It is amazing that it has survived to our time, and every evening gives its performances.
In the repertoire of the fountain there are many works of different styles - classics, musicals, pop and rock hits. The pool in which the fountains are located has a size of 25 by 45 meters. It contains water rings with a total of 3,000 sprayers. They are operated by 49 pumps, and the total length of the pipes is about two kilometers.
Performances begin every evening from 20.00. There are four performances, each lasting 40 minutes. The ticket price is 200 kroner.
