Manes Bridge

M nesů v most, Praha-Praha 1, Č esk republika

Description:

The Manesov Bridge connects the banks of the famous Czech Vltava River. On one bank there is a colorful fishing village, on the other – the center of Prague. Built in 1916, it, like many Czech bridges, changed its name. It was originally called the Franz Ferdinand d'Este Bridge, in honor of the Archduke of the Habsburg dynasty. Then, in 1920, he was given the name in honor of the Czech artist and creator of the famous dial on the Prague chimes - Josef Manes.

Previously, until 1911, there was a ferry crossing and a pedestrian hanging bridge, but later in its place was built Manesov Bridge. In fact, it was supposed to perform a transport function, but then where do pedestrians go? So the bridge became pedestrian.

How do I get there?

You need the 207th bus, as well as 17.18 and 53 trams that run from Rudolfinum to Manesov Bridge. If you need to get to the sights from the area of Small Strana - you need trams number 1.5,8,12,18,20,22,25,26 and 57. If we talk about the metro, look for it on the green line.
