Petřín Observation Tower
Petrishina Hill, Prague, Czech Republic
Description:
Petřín Observation Tower is located on Petřín Hill. You can get to it by funicular or on foot through the garden, spread out on the eastern slope. The height of the Petřín Tower together with the television antenna is 80 meters. At an altitude of 55 meters there is an observation deck, which leads to 299 steps of two spiral staircases. From here you have a wonderful view of Prague.
The creation of this unique structure was inspired by the view of the Eiffel Tower, which impressed members of the Club of Czech Tourists during their journey in the late 19th century. Funds for the implementation of the idea were collected throughout the country, and within 5 months the construction of the tower was completed.
