Kampa Peninsula

V&scaron ehrdova 450/16, CZ-11800 Praha, Czech Republic

Description:

One of the most beautiful and romantic places in Prague is the Kampa Peninsula. On the one hand it is washed by Vltava, and on the other by the Devil's Creek, which was dug in the twelfth century. This was done in order to drive the mill wheel. Since the Devil's Devil was created by human hands, Campa is considered an artificial peninsula. The creek got its name thanks to a Czech laundromat who washed clothes here. This woman was very fond of profanity, which is why the name came from.

In the Middle Ages, in addition to the mills on the Kampa Peninsula, there were no buildings. They began to appear a little later, and before that there were only parks and gardens. One of the parks, made in the English style, has survived to this day.
