Hradč ansk ná mě stí 185/2, 118 00 Praha-Praha 1, Czech Republic

Description:

Schwarzenberg Palace is a majestic Prague palace built during the Renaissance. It has survived to this day in excellent condition.

At different times, the palace belonged to various dynasties, the last of which was the Schwarzenberg dynasty, which gave its name to the palace.

The building attracts attention due to the black and white paintings in the technique of sgraffito - a drawing superimposed on the wall in two layers with different colors. This technique of drawing was brought to the Czech Republic by Italian masters who worked here in the XVI century.

Inside, the palace is decorated with paintings on canvases, paintings depicting famous antique scenes.

It now houses the Prague National Gallery.

The palace is located on Hradchanskaya Square.
