Troy Palace
Trojsk 3/187, 171 00 Praha-Praha-Troja, Czech Republic 130 m
Description:
The Troy Palace towers over one of the suburbs of Prague. This is the first summer country palace to appear in the Czech Republic. Built in 1691, it has survived to this day in excellent condition.
The elegant palace combines all the best features of the Czech Baroque. Its “face” is a chic outer staircase decorated with sculptures depicting heroes of ancient Greek myths. A kind of “sculptural exposition” tells about the victory of the gods over the giants.
The interiors of the palace are decorated with amazing frescoes, for which the best Italian and Dutch artists were invited. Troy Palace is surrounded by a French park, famous for its labyrinth of hedges.
