Žižkov TV Tower

Mahlerovy sady 2699/1 130 00 Praha-Praha 3, Czech Republic

Description:

The Žižkov TV Tower is the highest building in the Czech Republic. The bizarre, incompatible with the historical appearance of the building has caused a lot of controversy - some consider it the ugliest building in Prague, others - an integral part of the urban landscape.

The construction of the 216-meter tower lasted from 1985 to 1992. In the architectural sense, the tower, the appearance of which resembles a rocket, is an extraordinary structure. The basis of the structure consists of three concrete pillars, which are connected by horizontal bars of cubic shape. They have a cafe, restaurant and observation decks from which a panorama with a view of 100 kilometers into the distance opens.
