Pomegranate Museum

Maiselova 1, 110 00 Praha-Josefov, Czech Republic

About the company:

If we talk about the symbols of the Czech Republic, then the Czech grenade will surely be among them. No other stone, not even a precious ruby, has such a pronounced red color. So that everyone could appreciate the beauty of this stone, a pomegranate museum was created.

Until 2009, the only pomegranate museum was located in the church building in Trzebonitsa, and not every traveler got there. Therefore, there was a well-founded idea to place a similar museum in Prague. Today, the exposition of the museum presents historical products of the 19-20 centuries from Czech pomegranate, folk products. Among other things, guests will be told how pomegranate was produced and produced in the Czech Republic, what types of pomegranate exist and how it was cut, how the jewelry pomegranate school developed. There is a separate corner in the museum dedicated to various legends and beliefs associated with the pomegranate.

Visitors to the museum really like to find the stone in the “sandbox” filled with special rock, then take this stone with them as a memory. It’s especially nice to get a grenade for free. The exposition ends with a collection of jewelry brought from the Trzebonitsa Museum – from household items decorated with a pomegranate to truly luxurious jewelry that once belonged to eminent persons. If you want to buy jewelry with a pomegranate, then know: every real stone is marked with a mark “G” or “G1”.
