Toy Museum in Prague
About the company:
Toy Museum in Prague is considered one of the most popular places visited by tourists and citizens. It opened in 1989, in an old mansion near Prague Castle. The owner of the collection and the founder of the museum was the film director Ivan Steiger. The exposition is represented by a huge number of different toys.
The founder of the museum began to collect his collections in the 70s of the XX century. At first it was teddy bears, dolls made of porcelain of the XIX century and models of cars. The last was a collection of dolls of popular movie heroes and famous people, which he collected with his grandson.
The exposition is presented not only by tin soldiers of all times and peoples, it also contains ancient Egyptian toys, whose age is estimated at thousands of years. There are also very rare exhibits – toys made of bread by Indians. On the second floor of the museum is a pavilion dedicated to the Barbie doll. Toys of different years will show the entire history of the doll from the beginning to the present.
The museum is located in the Old Town area, near the gate to the Old Stairs. The building of the museum is an old tower, reminiscent of the attic of an old house, a place of real secrets and magical things.
Be sure to visit this museum, perhaps you will meet a doll from your childhood.
