Fountain on the Market Square
Description:
The fountain on the Market Square (Czech, Třní namesti) is a rectangular stone container with a fountain. The Market Square is located on the outskirts of the historic city centre of Tabor, north of the main town square of Jan Žižka. There are no sculptural decorations at the fountain, its front area has carved ornaments.
According to official sources, the fountain originally had a round shape and existed since 1830 on the Market Square, but in the middle of the XIX century was replaced by one that has survived to our time. In 2001 there was a complete reconstruction of the Market Square together with the fountain.
