Disappeared Fountain on Prague Street

Pra ská ulice, Tá bor

Description:

The disappeared fountain, which was located at the beginning of Prague Street in the city of Tabor, existed since the XVI century, and in the common people was called “puddle”. Its stone container served to collect rainwater for the purpose of fire safety of residents of the surrounding houses, so that it was possible to draw water to extinguish the fire. This purpose was mentioned in the historical records of the XVIII century.

The fountain was roughly and unreasonably removed in the late sixties of the twentieth century. His medieval image remained in ancient photographs, which are often used in images of modern postcards.
