Water tower

i kova ul., Tá bor

Description:

The water tower in Tabor has an unusual appearance for us. It is rectangular in shape and looks more like a cake decorated with whipped cream than a technical building. In 1492, the Jordan reservoir was formed by blocking the Koshin stream. In the same year, a water tower was built next to it to supply drinking water to the residents of the city. The masters invented a unique system of water pumps for the end of the XV century, which delivered water from the Jordan to the tower, which was 32 meters high from the water level.

The Renaissance facade of the tower has painted white bricks that give the impression of voluminous stone protrusions. The roof is decorated with semicircular carved arches, which gives the building an airy appearance. The tower is used as an art gallery for aspiring Czech artists.
