The Baba Bastion

Bastion "Baba" on Michalsk street in Litomeržice was originally part of the outer city wall, which was built in the XVI century. The bastion was built in 1513. He served as a city prison and had a torture chamber. Since the XIX century, the building has been converted for residential purposes. Today it houses the administration of the protected areas of the Central Czech Mountains.

The city wall in Litomeržice is a Gothic fortification system and frames the historic city center, where the main attractions are located. Only two bastions have survived, one of which is called Baba.
