Ice caves "Wolf pits"

Ice caves "Wolf pits" are located near the small village of Lenora on the border of three countries: the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany. The caves are two rocky depressions: 15 and 25 meters deep and 120 meters long. They are called glacial, because due to the small circulation of air in the caves there is snow all year round.

In the XVI century, ore deposits were found on this place. The mountain was riddled with galleries, some of them went 50 meters underground. One day the mines collapsed, forming a large depression. Around the Wolf pits there is a tourist trail with an amazing view of the surroundings, which has 7 observation stops and a length of 5.5 km.
