Easter Island

Anakena Beach

20 kilometers from Hanga Roa, Caleta Anakena, Pashi, Chile.

Description:

For the most part, the shores of Easter Island are rocky and precipitous, dotted with fragments of pointed rocks, against which waves break noisily. But the beach of Anakena favorably differs from other coastal places of Easter Island. This is one of the few beaches where swimming is allowed.

Anakena attracts tourists with its sandy shore and gentle entrance to the sea. But the main decoration of the beach is its history. Previously, the residence of the Supreme Leader Rapa Nui was located in Anaken. In memory of that time near the beach there are 2 pedestals with statues. On one of them are 7 of the most elegant moai figures on the island. Most tourists come here for the whole day, so near the beach there are several cozy cafes and parking.
