Crater Lake Likankabur

Lake Likankabur is located in the crater of the volcano of the same name at an altitude of 5916 meters. The lake is considered one of the highest located bodies of water in the world, and is the highest location for divers.

The lake is located at the bottom of a huge crater at the very top of the volcano and has an oval shape with sides of 100 and 70 meters. Despite the high altitude and depth of only 8 meters, most of the year the water in the lake does not freeze due to the activity of hot springs at the bottom of the crater.
