Excursion to the Andes: Fareyones, Vaye Nevado

On this day we will visit 2 ski resorts, visit the heart of the Andes and climb to a height of about 3.000 meters! We'll visit Fareiones and Valle Nevado. The resorts are very convenient - only 60 km from Santiago, so the road to the first of them - Fareiones, takes no more than 1.5 hours. Both resorts form the largest ski area not only in Chile, but in all of South America - 9.000 hectares and 3 km of trails! This ski complex is famous for its magnificent snow-white slopes, fabulous views of the surrounding landscapes and developed sports and entertainment infrastructure, annually attracting thousands of fans of winter sports to its slopes. The ski season here is from June to October. If you arrive in Chile in winter, this is a great opportunity to spend not only one day here, but also to stay for 2.3 days or more.

In the summer, thousands of tourists come here to see the magnificent scenery and feel the power and grace of the longest mountain range in South America. So, we leave the hotel, drive through Santiago and soon the mountain serpentine begins, which offers wonderful views of the Andes, the Mapocho River and Santiago. Soon we come to Fareiones, this is the oldest ski resort near Santiago, created in the 30s of the last century. We will see another resort - El Colorado, known for its informal surroundings due to the large number of young people.

Then we will go to Valle Nevado, where we will spend some time to enjoy the mountain scenery and take photos. Valle Nevado is the most famous, modern and one of the highest mountain resorts in Chile.

It was formed on the slopes of Mount El Plomo only in 1988, but for such a short period of its existence managed to gain immense popularity among ski fans. By analogy with the famous European ski regions, this area, where Valle Nevado, El Colorado and La Parva are located, is called the “Three Valleys of the Andes”, which have become a symbol of skiing in Latin America.
