Santiago

"Roots of Chile" (suitable for holidays with children)

Description:

My new tour within the city of Santiago is dedicated to travelers passionate about cultures, history, legends and especially those who cherish nature and love plants. Attention to families with children and adolescents - this excursion is suitable for children, especially for the curious. Take them with you, and we’ll head to the south of Santiago, where, about forty-five minutes by car from the historic heart of Chile’s capital, an environmental center operates. Here, on a large plot of land, a family of Chileans works, which, with the support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Chile, as well as the Ministry of Tourism, and the Ministry of Education, built several reproductions of pre-Columbian Indian settlements, and actively collects a collection of plants endemic to different regions of Chile, grows seedlings of endangered trees, shrubs and grasses, reviving Chilean and South American native forests.

Together with the employees of the ecological park, we will see the results of their painstaking long-term work, you will learn not only the names of Chilean plants, but will see them firsthand, hear what properties each of them has, what was used in the past, before the Chilean Conquista, and how it is used in our time. Legends, legends, stories, artifacts - all this awaits you during our tour. I would love to be your interpreter guide and you will feel like you are speaking the same language to Chileans. At the end of our tour you can take part and plant one of the plants with your own hands.

This trip takes only half a day, and if you wish, we can combine it with another excursion, such as the cultural and historical sightseeing tour “Santiago: the city in the palm of the Andes”, or the wine tour to the Maipo Valley “The glass of the Chilean sun”, as well as transfer to the port to board your cruise ship. Welcome to the world of Chile’s wildlife and the no less vibrant soul of its people, to the world of the Indians who shaped Chile’s culture and traditions long before modern history and preserve them for generations to come and for us.
