Museum of Fine Arts

Jos Miguel de La Barra, Santiago, Chile

About the company:

The Museum of Fine Arts in Santiago was founded in 1880 and is the oldest museum in all of Latin America. The museum has a beautiful collection of paintings and sculptures, starting from colonial times and ending with modernity.

The opening of the museum took place on September 21, 1910, as part of the International Exhibition, which is part of the celebration of the centenary of independence. It was originally called the National Painting Museum.

In the interior design of the museum there are many European details. For example, the glass domes crowning the central hall were designed and manufactured in Belgium.
