Calle Merced 860, Santiago, Region Metropolitana, Chile

About the company:

The Santiago Museum in Casa Colorado is located in Santiago, the capital of Chile. Casa Colorado is an outstanding monument of colonial architecture, built in 1769 by architect Joseph de la Vega, for Count Matteo de Toro Sambrano.

The name "Casa Colorado" in translation means "Red House", it consists of two parts separated by the courtyard. The colonial style is reflected in the following features: huge windows with balconies, a red tiled roof, well restored, walls of dark red brick, which gave the estate its name.

Today in the building is the Museum of the city of Santiago. To get to the museum, you need to walk through the vast patio courtyard between the houses. The museum occupies five huge rooms of Casa Colorado. An interesting exposition of the museum illustrates the history of the city and its development, from pre-Columbian times to modern times, as well as basic data about the history of Chile. Every year the museum is visited by thousands of tourists.
