Anibal Pinto Square

Anibal Pinto Square is one of the main transport centers of the city. It is named after Anibal Pinto Garmendia, a former Chilean president from 1876-1881.

The president himself lived nearby. Walking past his house, you would not have thought that this is the presidential apartment, if not for the memorial plaque on the facade.

In 1930, a fountain with a sculptural composition of the god Neptune was installed on the square. Now there is a monument to naval hero Carlos Condella.

In this busy square there are constantly several sellers with live flowers for ridiculous money. Walking tourists can relax in outdoor cafes such as Caf Riquet and cozy bars with Latin music. One such bar, which has long been chosen by tourists and locals, is Bar Cinzano.
